A Single Girl's Guide: Valentine's Day

*cues Beyonce's Single Ladies*

All my single ladies put your hands up! It's that time of year...the red hearts are starting to fill up the candy aisle, teddy bears and all that other stuff are becoming more visible and people are letting everyone know who their bae is via Instagram. Don't fret though. I'm here to let you know that it's perfectly fine to be single sis.

So what is there to do on this sacred day of love for the single girl? Plenty! That's why I'm here to guide you to living your best life for Valentine's Day 2019.

Host a Valentine's Day Brunch for your other single girl friends. This is probably one of my favorite things to do with my friends on any other day, so why not make a girls' date out of it. You can even do a gift exchange and make it even more special for your Valentine bestie.

Treat Your Damn Self! Don't wait for Prince Charming to find you girl. You'll wait FOREVER for him to come down off that high horse. Get dressed up in your fanciest dress, beat your face to the gawds, and have a night out on the town. If you happen to meet someone while you're out, enjoy the company. You deserve it!

Buy Yourself Flowers and Candy. My favorite time to purchase is the day after when store sell it for half price. So you get to decorate the coffee table with fresh flowers and have some half priced chocolates with your wine as you binge watch your favorite show on Netflix. Who said Netflix and chill had to be a group activity?

Give Back To Your Community. Do you have any friends that are educators, elementary school to be exact? They are always in need of supplies for their students. Go out and purchase a few things that will equip them to throw the perfect Valentine's party for their students. (1)They'll need candy, and LOTS of it. (2) several boxes of character valentine's' cards, you know the ones with the kids' favorite cartoon characters. (3) snacks and juice and of course (4) supplies for the kids to make arts and crafts. The kids will love you and your educator friend will THANK YOU!

Just Stay Home. Who says that Valentine's Day has to be a national holiday for everyone? You don't have to celebrate if you don't want to sis. People often make a big deal out of Vday, but honestly it's only a big deal to those who have a significant other, and for some, it's not a big deal at all. You don't have to feel bad because you're single. Single is a choice for some and for others, it's a learning experience. No matter what end of the spectrum you're on, staying home can be beneficial. You can get some cleaning done, do some reading or just get some rest.

Valentine's Day honestly is just another day for some people, and that's okay. Just try not to stress out over the semantics of this day. Don't allow anyone to make you feel bad for the decisions you make on Vday, no matter what option you choose, and remember to keep it cute sis! So my question for all my single ladies out there is, what was the last gift you received for Valentine's Day, whether it was from a friend or significant other? Comment down below and remember to like, share and SUBSCRIBE. I love all of you out there! Until next time...

Phoenix Beauty 101 started as my name in my faux business plan when I was in cosmetology school. I needed a name to finish my project to graduate. It stuck! Fast forward and its been my social media persona since 2011...
