Holiday Shopping Guide

Gift giving season is upon us and it seems like year by year, it gets harder to choose gifts for those in my life. My niece and nephew are getting older now and I never know what to get them. I usually give them gift cards or money and call it a day, but wouldn't it be nice to have a guide to know what to get your loved ones that are hard to please? I'm going to give my best gift giving advice and suggestions in hopes that you can outdo Santa himself.

Secret Santa

Secret Santa normally happens among groups of people or friends that want to buy others something, but don't want to spend an arm and a leg. These gifts are normally priced between $10-$25 depending on how close the group is. These are your gift card queens, on the go shoppers and "I'll just grab something because I forgot" shoppers. These gifts don't ordinarily come with a gift receipt because of how inexpensive they are.

Just Dating

Fellas, this one's for you! Ever wonder when it's appropriate to buy a girl, or guy (I don't judge), a gift, but you just started dating? I'll put it like this, if you plan on seeing this girl on a serious level, and I mean SERIOUS, it's ALWAYS appropriate to buy a gift. Pick her brain and see what it is that she really wants for the holiday season. You don't have to be super extravagant with jewelry. If she's anything like me, she'll lose it or not wear it out of fear of losing it. Ask her questions before the holiday season begins, but be discreet, and that will let you know what's on her wish list. Inversely, ladies, do the same thing for him. Again, gauge the level of the relationship and go from there. Ask questions. If you know he's been wanting a certain fragrance, video game or whatever it is that he likes, go for it! Don't be afraid to gift for someone you're just dating.

Significant Other/Spouse

They deserve the world and you should give it to them. At this point in your relationship, you should know what they like and where to buy it. Go all out every time you have the chance to show them they are just that special to you.

Kids

Shopping for kids are definitely the easiest of all of these. With all the tv commercials and papers you get in the mail, it should be very easy to choose. I usually have my oldest son make a list of the things he REALLY wants and the things he KINDA wants because he has Christmas and birthday in the same month...lucky me right! For my younger two, I usually base their gifts on whatever their likes are at the time. For instance, Liam is into Paw Patrol and Benjamin is into PJ Mask and technology. So it's super easy to shop for them.

What are some of your gift giving strategies? Let me know below in the comments. Also, what are some things you're expecting to receive this year? Don't forget about the Super, Special Birthday Surprise happening until November 28th. There's only a few more days to enter before the giveaway closes. Until next time...
