Skin Series: Sample Log

This week's skin series is dedicated to samples. Those tiny , non-brand specific jars that are filled up with a few days worth of product so you can see how much you like it. If you're like me and have friends that give you deluxe samples when you shop, shout out to Courtney and Kali, then you end up with a drawer full of goodies to test out.

If you haven't figured out I'm a a skin care junkie. Makeup is an art but skin care is a must! I'd rather be on my Alicia Keys tip a few times a week and go without makeup than feel like I NEED makeup to cover up blemishes. (sorry not sorry!) When I worked in retail, I always asked my customers if they wanted to conceal or correct. Naturally, they were always confused by this question. I would try to push for a skin care item and a the product they were shopping for because how can we truly services our customers by only selling them what they want? And of course I am just realizing how dirty that last sentence sounds *shrugs.* Anywho...

Below is a list of skin care items that I've either gotten as a sample or purchased as a full size product and have just finished the bottle.

The Microdelivery Exfoliating Facial Wash by Philosophy

Initially, I didn't want to like this cleanser. I've purchased skin care items in the past, like years ago, and I just didn't see a difference after a few weeks of use. This was a deluxe sample. It came in a 1 ounce bottle, so it lasted about a week. After using it for a week, I did notice that my skin was way smoother, and as a dry skin maven, I'm always on the prowl for something that's going to give me skin that is soft and smooth. I would consider purchasing a full size of this cleanser, consider is the keyword because I already have a favorite exfoliating cleanser in rotation. I'll rate it 6/10 stars.

Absolue Eye Premium Bx by Lancome

First off, Lancome is one of my favorite skin care brands. Absolue is the skin care range dedicated to very dry to mature skin, so you can see why I'm so in love with it. The eye cream itself leaves the eye are hydrated, plump, and it also adds a golden glow to make the area look refreshed. It's insane you guys I promise. For that are more oily and are afraid of a little hydration, applying this cream or any hydrating product for that matter will absorb better at night than during the day. I'll rate this product 10/10 stars.

Age Perfect Hydra-Nutrition Advanced Skin Repair by L'Oreal

There are soooooooo many things I want to say about this product! Lets start with the smell. I swear if there were a fragrance with the same notes, I'd buy it bulk. Its floral at first but then the base notes hit you and instantly, you're in a spa on a treatment table with warm towels. Well that what I imagine when I use it lol. It hydrates all day, even when I've got a face full of FULL coverage foundation, its still working, keeping my skin nice and hydrate. It has a dropper applicator which is perfect for me because I'm clumsy. I'll rate this product an infinite sign/10 stars. Seriously, I'm on my 3rd bottle.

The True Cream- Aqua Bomb by Belif

I got this tiny little jar of happiness in my Ipsy glam bag in January. It came as a .33 ounce jar. I swear, its the cutest little thing! I, personally only used it once, but I let my oldest son use it while he was here visiting on holiday break. He has eczema and his dad and I are always trying to find creams and moisturizers that work for him. I noticed that my son's skin had a glow to it and that's something I've never seen in his skin since he was diagnosed with eczema. It wasn't a glow like highlight but a glow like skin that was refreshed, hydrated and healthy. Most other moisturizers make him look greasy and oily but this gave him the right amount of moisture. I'll rate this 9/10 stars.
