Sen18r Spotlight: Zi'Onne Francis
This month I'd like to highlight some very deserving seniors of the graduating class of 2018. These students have excelled in academics, been very active in their school's student life and have completed the toughest stages of their lives thus far, high school.
The next spotlight takes a trip down Interstate 10 and lands us in New Orleans, Louisiana. Zi'Onne Francis, known as Ziggy by her friends, is graduating senior from Edna Karr High School. She has spent the last two years as part of the Cougar Dolls Dance Team, where she served as co-captain her senior year.
A side from being a dancer, Zi'Onne has also been involved in other campus activities includes, Amnesty International, and Principal Honor Roll. She managed to maintain a 3.9 gpa throughout high school.
Zi'Onne has learned that helping others is great, but helping yourself is better. "Don't get caught up helping other people reach their goals. Focus on helping yourself." When asked about the person that she's most grateful for, she says that her mother because she's helped carry her through her entire high school experience.
In the fall, Zi'Onne will be attending the illustrious, Dillard University on a Presidential Scholarship. She will major in psychology. She also plans to attend Southern University- New Orleans and major in criminal justice.
Zi'Onne will graduate on May 18, 2018. The advice she has for the incoming freshman class of Edna Karr High School is to not let the fear and excitement of high school get into your head or interfere with your grades because those first grades matter. And to the class of 2019, she says, "Work hard and play later. It's senior year, but a lot has to be done. Focus in order to be able to enjoy it to the end."
Next time, we'll be traveling west on Interstate 10 to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Until then, be sure to give Zi'Onne , and the other graduates some well wishes by commenting on these posts! I promise they will see them. Congratulations Zi'Onne!!! I know you will do well in the future. Until next...
