Do it with Love, or Not At All!

Hey friends! I know, I know...I've been gone a while. You'd think that I'd have some time to write, especially since we've been in a pan-Demi Lovato for 2 years now. In the beginning, I had a lot of downtime to think and spend time with my family, but depression set in shortly after and I began to spiral. I'm better now. The pandemic really made me sit with my thoughts and really learn who I am and who I'm becoming so I can start mold into who I want to be.

I started working my dream job at the end of 2020 and I went through a season of validation that caused me to experience some old traumas that resurfaced. I'm still working through them now, but that season of validation was rough!

As some of you know, I'm a licensed esthetician, but I'd like to reintroduce myself to you because the girl was when I launched this blog, is not the WOMAN I am today. I'm Jennifer Henson, licensed esthetician turned licensed Educator of Esthiology. I work at one of the greatest institutes in the country. I'm a mom of 3 crazy boys, and I'm a lover of all things Disney, Hamilton, beauty, skin care, and TikTok.

I started this blog in 2017 as a means to fill my creative void and somewhere along the way, I lost why I started. I was discouraged, depressed, and unmotivated. I went through a very traumatic break up that left me the emotional equivalent of a millennial man with mommy issues. I definitely went through a toxic stage afterwards. I relocated from Louisiana to Texas late in 2019 right before the pandemic started, which added it's own set of traumatic experiences. I've tried on so many different occasions to get back to the root of why I started this blog, but in reality I can't. I'm not the same person I was when I launched. It's easy to say, "remember your why," when I tell my students that, but I've definitely learned it's easier to give advice than it is to take advice.

I came to a realization, though. At the very core of who I am, I do everything with, for, in spite of, and because of love. This blog started because of my love of the beauty industry, my love of all things skin care, the passion I felt when I discovered my content was helping others. That is my why after all, LOVE! So my message to you, dear reader, is in all the things that you do, do it with love. Create with love. Lead with love. Be...love! If you do everything with love, you'll always win.

With that being said, I want this to be space for creating, a space for skin, a space for me to vent (if I need to), and above all, a space for love. Stay tuned, dear reader.
